Today, on 15 February, Minister of Education, Culture and Research, Monica Babuc had a meeting with H.E. Sándor Szabó, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to the Republic of Moldova. The discussions were focused on the enhancing of bilateral relations in the fields of education and culture.
At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Monica Babuc appreciated the contribution of the Hungarian Embassy in organization of several cultural actions in the Republic of Moldova and for the intermediation in the signing of cooperation Agreements with the Ministry of Human Resources from Budapest, on the basis of which Moldovan citizens can benefit annually from 30 scholarships (10 for bachelor's, 10 for master's and 10 for doctor's degrees), the Moldovan plastic artists organize periodical painting exhibitions in Hungary, and vice versa, and the Hungarian publishing houses take part in the Book Fair in Chisinau. In context, we mention that previously were signed the Cultural Cooperation Protocol (for 2016-2018) and the Cooperation Program in the field of education and science (for 2017-2019) with the Hungarian Ministry of Human Resources.
H.E. Sándor Szabó expressed his satisfaction that bilateral relations are making tangible progress, such that the academic mobility offers and the opportunities to promote the plastic arts, the handicraft, the music, the cinema, in other areas of local culture in Hungary are harnessed.
At the same time, the official manifested his availability to continue the cooperation within CEEPUS, ACES Programs, the European Union Strategy for the Danube Region (SUERD), as well as through of cultural activities: the reciprocal organization of art exhibitions, Hungarian assistance in organisation of some training courses for managers of cultural institutions from Republic of Moldova, etc.
