Today, on 8 February, Minister of Education, Culture and Research, Monica Babuc had a meeting with H.E. Masanobu Yoshii, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Moldova.
The officials discussed about the perspectives of cooperation in the fields of education, culture and research between the two states, being approached different subjects regarding the implementation of academic mobility projects and the stimulation of inter-university cooperation, especially in the field of research and joint realization of scientific projects, the extension of cooperation with the Japanese partners in the technical assistance programs for technical vocational education, as well as about the facilitation of the mutual participation of artistic groups at the different cultural events, the realization of cinematographic co-productions, the endowment of the National Library, the National Center of Cinematography and other cultural institutions with digitizing equipment.
Minister Monica Babuc expressed thanks to Japan for the support given to the Republic of Moldova and she referred, in the context, to the success of the ,,Kusanone” projects which contributed to improving the infrastructure and the educational conditions in schools and kindergartens, at the Japanese Grant for technical vocational education, the launching with the support of the Embassy of the first mobile library for children from the Republic of Moldova, the organization of the Japanese Film Festival, the endowment of the National Palace and the National Opera and Ballet Theater with technical equipment, as well as the supporting of the Bunkasai Festival by Ministry of Education, Culture and Research.
In his turn, H.E. Masanobu Yoshii showed the availability to expand the bilateral cooperation in the field of education, culture and research and expressed thanks for the support of the study of the Japanese language in the Republic of Moldova's higher education institutions, but also for the beautiful cooperation with the Moldovan-Japanese Relations Foundation.
At the end of discussion, Monica Babuc reiterated the invitation to his Japanese counterparts to visit the Republic of Moldova for sigh the bilateral cooperation Agreements in the fields of education, culture, research, youth and sport.
