Today, on January 24, State Secretary General of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, Igor Șarov had a meeting with H.E. Christine Freilinger, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria to the Republic of Moldova. At the meeting was presented the new cultural attaché of Embassy, Thomas Kloiber.
The main subject of the discussion was the examination of the current stage of bilateral cooperation in the fields of education, culture and research, as well as the possibility of launching joint actions in the future.
The State Secretary General Igor Șarov expressed thanks to the Austrian Government for its active involvement in the development of various cultural projects, also for supporting the modernization of professional technical education, with emphasis on the development of dual-purpose training projects and also the projects related to learning throughout life.
In context, the Austrian officials mentioned a series of initiatives in the fields of education and culture planned for the current year and which will be carried out both with the support of the Ministry and also in cooperation with private partners. These initiatives include: the organization of a scientific symposium dedicated to Franz Kafka's works; the promotion of the study of the German language by improving the methodology of teaching it in language faculties; the organization of a literary tournament dedicated to the contemporary Austrian author Franzobel; the rehabilitation of edifices with cultural and artistic destination; the organization of musical events with the participation of Moldovan artists etc.
In the end, the parties agreed to intensify the bilateral cooperation relations with the implementation of concrete actions in the fields of education, culture and research.
